Policy of Screening for Plagiarism

Plagiarism & AI Misconduct Policy

Zero Tolerance Policy | Last update: 1 January 2026

Dignity Nursing Journal (DNJ) applies a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and unethical use of artificial intelligence. The journal follows international standards including COPE guidelines and ICMJE recommendations.

All submissions are screened using Crossref Similarity Check (iThenticate) to ensure originality and academic integrity.

Similarity Screening Process

Each manuscript is screened at least twice (initial submission and post-revision).

No fixed similarity percentage automatically defines plagiarism.  Editorial evaluation considers context, citation quality, and overlap nature.

Generative AI Use

The use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) is permitted only for language editing and readability improvement under full human supervision.

AI must not be used to generate scientific content, data interpretation, or conclusions without proper verification.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all submitted content.
